In modwars you're settling on planets, build buildings there, which mine resources, to enable you to order more buildings. During the game you can use starship yards to build starships, with which you can fly to other planets, explore, and settle on them. Of couse there's even more action. You can attack alien starships with yours and conquer plantes which are already colonized by other players. What drives modwars are rivalry and group dynamics. Inside the game you can use the Hypercom, which is similar to using emails, to exchange messages with other players or forge an alliance, to reach goals together.

What is the goal of the game?
The goal of the game is to have as many planets as possible and to be successful in direct starship combat against your opponents. Which strategy is the best, will turn out during the game. A ranking gives you always an overview, how you score in comparison with other players.

What happens, when I'm not online?
Your planets and starship are always in the game. If one of your starships is attacked, when you are currently offline, it defends itself automatically, using the tactics that you've specified before. But you have to keep in mind, that finished buildings, are not activated automatically. You have to do this manually, which means online. Note also, that your starships can be attacked again immediately. You have to login, to repair your starships. Alternatively you can equip your starships later in the game with a gravo capacitor, which can protect your starships for several hours.
